Wire EDM Billets

A wire EDM billet is a component used in wire electrical discharge machining (EDM) machines. It serves as an electrode for cutting and shaping a thin metal wire.

The wire EDM process cuts through materials by generating sparks on the surface of the workpiece as a thin metal wire travels at high speed. The wire EDM billet is crucial for the successful execution of this process, particularly in precision cutting operations.

Using a ready-made wire EDM billet offers time savings and high quality. It provides the advantage of working with standard quality as it is manufactured from special materials and undergoes a specific heat treatment. Delivered pre-threaded, heat-treated (58-60 HRC), ground, and preferably with a pre-drilled starter hole, the wire EDM billet ensures efficient machining.
