The alloying elements which are added into the copper increase the mechanical properties by dissolving in the copper cage or creating new phases when necessary. For example, of these, Cr, Zr, Be also allow the alloy to be hardened by precipitation. Conductivity and mechanical properties can be increased together using precipitation hardening or a similar aging method.
Hard copper alloys are also the alloys that have been developed using this hardening mechanism and find a wide range of uses.
