As seen in their microstructures, they stand out with a very homogeneous carbide distribution. Thanks to this advantage, they exhibit higher wear resistance and high-strength properties. However, production costs may be higher compared to other types of steel.
WHERE IS POWDER STEEL USED?
Powder steel is used in various industries, particularly in applications that require high precision. For example, it is commonly used in surgical instruments, bearings, cutting tools, gears, suspension parts, and many other applications.
Some powder metallurgical steels, such as PMD M4, PMD23, or PMD30, are based on high-speed steel.
In addition to manufacturing standard steels like 1.2379 through traditional methods, Dörrenberg Edelstahl also produces them using powder metallurgy technology, adding "PLUS" to their names, such as CPOH.
