Manufactured by Dörrenberg Edelstahl.
15-5 PH is a high-strength stainless steel material. The 15-5 PH material contains 15% chromium, 5% nickel, and 3% copper, and it may also include other elements such as phosphorus and sulfur. The 15-5 PH material possesses high durability and resistance to corrosion. 15-5 PH steel belongs to the martensitic steel type and is hardened through heat treatment. This process enhances the material's strength while retaining its toughness. These features enable the extensive use of 15-5 PH in various industries.
The hardness value of 15-5 PH steel can reach up to 440 HB.
15-5 PH steel is resistant to high temperatures and possesses high toughness. These properties make it suitable for various high-temperature applications. For instance, this steel type is widely used in components operating at high temperatures, such as jet engines, gas turbines, and reactors. Additionally, 15-5 PH is resistant to seawater and can be used in industries requiring exposure to saltwater, including maritime, shipbuilding, water treatment facilities, and offshore oil platforms.
Furthermore, compared to other stainless steels, 15-5 PH offers better corrosion resistance. Hence, it finds use in applications with a high risk of corrosion, such as the chemical industry, petrochemical industry, and food industry.
