Cr-Mo-V-W alloyed, secondary hardenable cold work tool steel with enhanced thermal conductivity, good hardenability and good wear resistance. Hardenable in vacuum furnaces with pressure gas quenching. Excellent base material for nitriding. This steel is usually supplied in soft annealed, extra fine structure (EFS) condition.
Manufactured by Dörrenberg Edelstahl.
CP2M material is a patented cold work tool steel alloyed with chromium, molybdenum, vanadium, and tungsten, possessing secondary hardening properties. CP2M special steel offers improved thermal conductivity, good hardenability, and excellent wear resistance. It can be hardened in vacuum furnaces and serves as an excellent base material for nitriding. CP2M steel is typically delivered in a soft annealed, extra fine structure (EFS) condition. It exhibits heat conductivity like hot work steel while maintaining high thermal fatigue resistance, similar to cold work steel.
CP2M material is used in the hot forming of heat-treated sheet metal parts used in automotive body components and general hot forming applications.
