Powder-metallurgical high-speed steel, fine distributed carbide structure, high compressive strength, excellent toughness, high wear resistance, high thermal stability. The volume of carbides is a little bit higher, compared to PMD23
PMD M4 steel is a powder metallurgy product patented by Dörrenberg. The carbides within the PMD M4 material are distributed very uniformly. It has high wear resistance due to its high vanadium content. PMD M4 exhibits better flexibility than known classical high-speed steels and is highly suitable for grinding. Because of these properties, it finds extensive use in various applications. Distortion during heat treatment is minimized, and it has slightly higher carbide content compared to PMD 23.
What is the Hardness Value of PMD M4 Powder Steel?
The hardness value of PMD M4 steel is between 62-64 HRC.
What are the Mechanical Properties of PMD M4 Powder Steel?
You can find the material properties of PMD M4 in the "Technical Details" tab. All mechanical and material properties of PMD M4 steel are specified within this tab.
Where is PMD M4 Powder Steel Used?
PMD M4 powder steel can be used in cutting tools, extrusion tools, precision blades, profile tools, and generally as a substitute for 1.3343 high-speed steel. It has started to replace air-hardening steels with 13% chromium content in cold working tools. Due to its high toughness and wear resistance, it is also used in precision cutting dies, embossing dies, and cold-forming rolling cylinders.
What is the Price of PMD M4 Powder Material?
The price of PMD M4 material varies depending on the product section, dimensions, and surface quality. You can access PMD M4 steel prices through the "Proceed to Online Sales" button on the www.saglammetal.com homepage.
