Ti Gr2 (Grade 2 titanium) is a titanium alloy produced in accordance with ASTM B265 standard. The chemical composition of this alloy includes a minimum of 99% titanium and also contains elements such as iron, carbon, and nitrogen. Ti Gr2 titanium offers high strength, lightness, and corrosion resistance, making it preferred for various applications. Additionally, its biocompatibility features contribute to its usage. Ti Gr2 also provides an excellent combination of formability and weldability.
- Yield Strength: 275 MPa (40 ksi)
- Tensile Strength: 345 MPa (50 ksi)
- Elongation: 20%
- Hardness: 35 Rockwell C
- Density: 4.5 g/cm³
Ti Gr2 is used in the aerospace industry for aircraft components, rocket engines, spacecraft bodies, and other components due to its lightweight and strength. In the chemical industry, its corrosion resistance makes it suitable for pipelines, reactors, and other equipment. Within the maritime sector, its resistance to seawater corrosion makes it suitable for ship components, surface equipment, and other parts. For medical implants, Ti Gr2's biocompatible properties make it suitable for various applications including bone plates, dental implants, and prosthetics.
