Manufactured by Dörrenberg Edelstahl.
1.3243 (HS6-5-2-5) steel is a cobalt-alloyed high-speed steel with a wide range of applications. The material retains its mechanical properties at high temperatures and possesses high wear resistance and toughness. 1.3243 steel is suitable for PVD and CVD coatings.
Thanks to its 5% cobalt content, 1.3243 (HS6-5-2-5) steel is especially preferred over 1.3343 in high-speed cutting operations. The high-speed steel 1.3243 maintains its hardness even at elevated temperatures thanks to the presence of cobalt. It is used in all types of milling cutters requiring high efficiency, drills subjected to high stresses, shearing blades, profile cutting knives, processing high-strength materials, broaches, and extrusion tools.
